We find that the great majority of multinationals govern their subsidiaries rather centrally and rely on a mix of formal and informal control mechanisms. She is the author of the book Effective Knowledge Transfer in Multinational Corporations published by Palgrave Macmillan. For her academic work, she received several awards and scholarships, such as the Fulbright Research Award, the Maria-Schaumayer-Award, and several Best Paper Awards at international conferences. Previously she worked as a consultant for multinational corporations, as a research and teaching assistant at the Research Institute for European Affairs, and as a research fellow at the University of Illinois.
